With the advance of the left on the heroes of Spain, you can study these same heroes. Earlier, we wrote about General Capo de Llano in Seville, not to mention Franco himself, but this time the Catalan separatists are demanding that the graves of the Montserrat Tertii, the Catalan carlists, be destroyed.
In the mausoleum, directly opposite the Basilica of the world famous monastery of Montserrat, four hundred and four carista warriors rest, giving their lives in the Crusade for Spain. Nearby is a monument - the wounded soldier Reke turned to the monastery. The inscription reads “Remember the example and the victim”.
Tertica herself was one of only two loyal to the crown and Spain units recruited in Catalonia. The detachment of traditionalists (one of the self-names of the Carlists) was really purely Catalan, recruited from volunteers, and command was conducted in Catalan. And since the monastery of Montserrat is the main shrine of Catalonia, and in the separatist mythology, the rocket are the worst of the traitors, it is not surprising that the left want to destroy any memory of them.
More probably, the Separatists probably only hate Franco himself, but the Socialists of Sanchez are already engaged in the Madrid Valley, and therefore the Catalans have decided to deal with the “Catalan Valley of the Fallen”. They demand both the destruction of the monument to the Carlists and the liquidation of the tomb itself, “according to the law on historical memory”. Local authorities have already removed references to the street from the streets, replacing the naming of “Terts of the Virgin of Montserrat” with “Virgin of Montserrat”.
By the time of the coup, the number of people in Catalonia was about 20 thousand people, and after the failure of the uprising in Barcelona, they began to make their way into the territory of the nationalists, where Tertia was formed. She wanted to be named in honor of St. George, but after the Virgin of Montserrat was chosen, known as the “Black Maiden of Montserrat,” the patroness of Catalonia. Under the banners with her image, the squad passed the crusade 1936-1939.
Tercium in size was equivalent to a battalion, and in all it was fighting 1600 soldiers and officers. Volunteers were poorly armed and only a few were professional soldiers. They went through the whole war, always on the front line and the river, were hit by huge losses, being twice almost completely destroyed in the Saragoss offensive and during the Battle of the Ebro, but always returned to service.
The mausoleum was opened in the 1961 year, was never free to visit and belongs to the current brotherhood of monserrat third, part of the structure of the general Spanish movement of the Carlists. The building houses a museum of tertiums with photographs of the dead, uniforms and banners, including those with traces of blood of soldiers.
More confusion adds the figure of the Abbé Escarre, one of the symbols of the struggle for independence. After the expulsion of the republic, when the monastery was abandoned, the image of the Virgin was hidden, and two dozen monks were killed, he revived Montserrat and became one of the initiators of the creation of the mausoleum. The Catalan abbot directly belonged to the Carlian brotherhood of the Tertius, at the same time was Franco's friend and advocated the democratization of Spain, and also in defense of the Catalan language and culture. Because of his political position, he was forced to leave Spain and live in Italy.
Today, the mausoleum remains the place of annual meetings of Catalan carlists to commemorate the dead and patriotic meetings. The site of the monastery does not contain any information about it, but on the plan it is designated simply as an "architectural monument". Together with the monument, the mausoleum drowned in new restaurants and shops that concealed the Basilica from a bronze dwarf.
The socialists have long demanded the dismantling of the monument and the mausoleum, and this time they have already submitted to the parliament a project to bring the tomb to the "Law of Historical Memory", but it is not known how much their rights extend to the monastery and what opposition they will face.
The following speech was delivered by traditionalists in November 2017 at the monastery of Montserrat on the feast of the King of Christ:
“We are not allowed to wage a political struggle that has no transcendental meaning. Our Homeland has value only when it favors the Eternal Heavenly Homeland. All the rest is nationalism or paganism. But there are worse cases - fools who think that the constitution creates a homeland, but not vice versa. Today, politics is mired in lies, deception and demagoguery, while the people of their word have practically disappeared. We are here because 80 years ago were sworn in by Tertius the Virgin of Montserrat. They have vowed to devote their banners to her, if she gives them the victory, and this promise we have been fulfilling continuously for 78 years.
They require us to worship a deity called democracy, and at the same time sacrifice our faith for its sake. But no, like the Maccabees and the 36 Crusade of the Year, we will become a resistance and an example for those who seek the truth. We will become a small but bright light that will break through this night of history. That is our fate, our mission. Sim undertake all present.
Long live King Christ! Long live Spain! Long live the Spanish Catalonia! "
What can I say? ¡Viva Cristo Rey !, ¡Viva España !, ¡Viva el Rey legítimo!
